This home is a no less than a piece of American history. Built for the famed Carnegie family in what was known as the Gilded Age, this house has borne silent witness to the comings and goings of a family that could almost be called American royalty. The decor may be reflective of the home's history but I do like it. It's warm and cluttered, very welcoming and comfortable. 

My understanding is that this is the first time this home has ever been on the market. I don't know why they're selling it but it makes me sad to think it could be knocked down and replaced with some horrid and cold glass and concrete monstrosity.
